About this deal

Whether you choose to print the label and send it in your own packaging or wait for our Welcome Pack (and that all-important Freepost Bag), sending your phone to us has never been easier! The P30 Lite has a bright enough backlight to make high-contrast content look clear when outdoors on a sunny day, but this is not an ultra-bright screen. And, as with Huawei’s other smartphones, there’s a long list of shooting modes at your disposal, including time-lapse, night and portrait modes.

Whether you're watching videos on YouTube or playing Candy Crush, your phone will feel more natural in your hand, for longer. Pay for that top-end phone and you get sharper images, and an actual reason to shoot at full resolution at times. The side buttons are plastic (or at least plastic-coated) rather than metal, there’s a tiny sliver of plastic between the front glass and aluminium, and there’s no official water resistance. GSMArena reports a similar experience, highlighting the 10x zoom and the high refresh rate as unexpected new features, while praising the cameras as the best in the business. If you look past its lavish looks and triple camera array, you’ll find a phone that doesn’t quite match up against its rivals, even if it does represent a significant saving on its P-series stablemates. It was, at one point, but it’s now one the better third-party interfaces, arguably outstripping HTC’s and LG’s once you apply a tweak or two. The phone’s performance is snappy, with a Geekbench 4 single and multi-core benchmark result of 1,534 and 5,469 respectively.

Instead, there’s a clumsily-placed fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, although you can still enable the speedy facial unlock if you prefer.

Crucially, while they might look similar, you’ll begin to see that these are fundamentally different phones when you peer under the bonnet. The Huawei P30 Lite’s battery doesn’t get close to matching the stamina of the Huawei P30 Pro, which can last two full days if you go easy on it. The phone ships with a triple Leica camera system, including a 40MP resolution “super sensing” camera, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 16MP wide angle lens. The Pro comes with 8GB RAM as standard, battery life has been beefed up to 4,200mAh, and users can opt for a massive 512GB of storage space.
